hundreds protest, then mourn a 13-year-old killed by a sonoma county deputy. now, new questions are being raised about that deputy's background. >> reporter:and why the chronicle is taking a stand against one of the n-f-l's most storied franchises. >> reporter: ucsf investigators are trying to track down a witness who could help shed some light in to an investigation that so far has had very few answers. kron 4 has learned police want to speak to man who they say was admitted onto the fifth floor from the emergency stairwell back on oct. 4th ucsf police saying the man had seen someone lying on the stairwell and reported it to a senior staff member at the hospital. >> reporter:investigators believe this happened back

on october 4th just before 7:30 in the morning the information was reported to the san francisco police department four days before lynn spalding was found dead. right now it s unclear if the man is an employee at the hospital. >> reporter:we did reach out to a spokesperson for the hospital, she tells us she is happy there is a wider net being cast on the investigation and that the staff is helping in anyway possible. >> reporter: the witness is described as an asian man 30-40 years old 5.8 tall with a medium build as to why this witness has not come forward is anyone's guess right now we are told that the hospital has already made efforts to track him down and get some answers. >> reporter: scott rates kron4 news. happening now.

>> catherine: hundreds of people marched through santa rosa today. saying they want justice for andy lopez. two rallies merged into one on the campus of santa rosa junior college. then the group marched across town to the headquarters of the sonoma county sheriff's department. >> reporter: a very emotional night at santa rosa. we're talking about hundreds of people march showed up at the church for in the lopez and they'd just wrapped up in the last half an hour. you can see in this video shot the casket of and the lopez holding his body. his family surrounding the casket. people are entering the church and coming out of the church this evening. they are saying their

area car-maker tesla.largely unaffected today after another report of a fiery crash. >> catherine: the man accused of injuring six law enforcement officers.and causing a long stand-off. was in court today. police say sammy duran shot an ice agent in the leg friday. and injured five officers in roseville. near sacramento. >> catherine: charges were filed against duran today - including seven attempted murder counts. he's in jail - and is expected to enter a plea friday. the injured officers are expected to be ok. >> catherine: for the second consecutive day, the woman accused in a d-u-i crash that killed a couple. was unable to appear in court. >> catherine: 53-year-old marjorie reitzell was scheduled to be arraigned today - but was once again excused because of medical reasons. police say she was drunk when she hit and killed a couple walking their dog thursday night in menlo park. reitzell's brother made brief statement after the hearing was cancelled. >> she's not an animal, she

rescue 14 elderly patients. after most of the staff had left. >> catherine: that's after the facility had its license temporarily revoked by the state. there are now allegations that the family running the facility also left 'another' group of seniors at an oakland home - called eden manor. that was earlier this year. >>eden manor is now under new management. but an employee says before the transition.she and six other staffers were left to care for patients for about 16 hours a day. seven days a week for more than a month.without pay.and without enough supplies. >> there is no food. it is like they do not care about the residents. >> reporter:the state is trying to bar the owners of valley manor from operating or working in a california residential care facility again. their lawyer is disputing the claims that residents were not properly cared for.
